In another forum, one participant having spewed a good bit of liberal nonsense, another participant suggested that this liberal read some of the libertarian philosophers America’s founding fathers put so much stock in, such as Frederic Bastiat and Edmund Burke. He proceeded to quote a passage from Edmund Burke:
“An ignorant man, who is not fool enough to meddle with his clock, is however sufficiently confident to think he can safely take to pieces, and put together at his pleasure, a moral machine of another guise, importance, and complexity, composed of far other wheels, and springs, and balances, and counteracting and co-operating powers. Men little think how immorally they act in rashly meddling with what they do not understand. Their delusive good intention is no sort of excuse for their presumption. They who truly mean well must be fearful of acting ill.” ( A Letter to a Member of the National Assembly, 1791)
My response:
Burke was describing in his day in England, over two hundred and thirty years ago, the very same mentality that drives liberals today in America - arrogant disdain and irreverence for the grand institutions that centuries of human experience have given shape to:
"Their delusive good intention is no sort of excuse for their presumption. They who truly mean well must be fearful of acting ill.”
As I have long and repeatedly argued, unbounded Godless arrogance - what Edmund Burke here calls "presumption" - is the root driver of the self-styled elite class. Dressed up in “delusive good intentions”, they are certain they are better and smarter than you and me, smarter than any number of free men and women (we are expendable, dumb animals in their view), smarter than all of history, smarter, indeed, than God himself, whose existence they deny, and, by virtue of their unadulterated brilliance, are naturally entitled to tell all the rest of us what to do, to take control of all our resources (see "The Great Taking") and the smallest details of our lives - all for our own good, of course - "You'll own nothing, have no privacy, and life will never be better!" - whether we like it or not. They intend to own everything, surveil your every waking moment, control your every action, have a monopoly on information, and have life-and-death power over every human being. You will stay alive or die at their pleasure...
And there isn't a scintilla of humility in these Godless egomaniacs, these aspiring dictators.... No matter how high the damning evidence of history piles up - no matter how much blood and carnage - their egos remain unassailable. They never doubt their infallibility, their moral superiority, never for an instant acknowledge the possibility of their "acting ill", and they will never take responsibility for the horror and destruction they cause. They are above having to account for what they do.
There is no better example of this than the millions of human beings these monsters have deliberately destroyed and continue to this minute to destroy via the Covid Pseudo-Pandemic/Covid Vaccine atrocities they have inflicted on mankind - all without a second thought and with every intent to bury the truth as deeply as they can. Nevertheless, the truth will out, and the stunning scale of this abomination is beginning to be known…
As Dr. Michael Nehls observes in his book, "The Indoctrinated Brain", these are people who unhesitatingly "walk over bodies" in pursuit of their ambitions. Human life means nothing in the face of their grand vision. They are no different in spirit than Genghis Khan (said to have murdered 10% of the world's population in his day), Hitler and the Nazis, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and other genocidal maniacs before them...
It is that same consummate amoral hubris that leads colossal jackasses like Klause Schwab and his pompous ass World Economic Forum ilk to declare, "It is vee, here in ziss room, who vill determine za futcha!" Not you or me or millions of others like us, by means of some pathetically antiquated institution like free and fair elections, but they alone, by virtue of their shear brilliance. Their Godless vision must reign supreme. They alone are arbiters of what is good. The future is theirs alone, not ours...
I spent a good part of my life incredulous at the idea that evil could exist on such a scale. No more. Now, in my superannuation, it seems to me, as I have noted before, that perhaps the greatest failure decent people are prone to as we enter upon this great, existential, terminal conflict between good and evil is the failure of imagination - an inability or refusal to envision the true scope and magnitude of the Godless, satanic, murderous evil that today is marshalled against everything good.
Know thine enemy.
Until we look into the true face and eyes of the beast and see it for what it really is, we will continue to be at a disadvantage.
Right vs. wrong, truth vs. lies, reality vs. fantasy, order vs. chaos, law vs. lawlessness, liberty vs. tyranny, patriotism vs. treason, light vs. darkness, good vs. evil, God vs. the Godless…
You will choose, like it or not…
If you can be fooled, you will be…
These are the times that try men’s souls…
