Hurricane Warning!
JPMorgan Chase CEO: Brace for Severe Economic Hurricane (trunews.com)
When Tucker Carlson the other evening made reference to this statement by Jamie Dimon, JP Morgan's CEO - that what's coming just ahead - not in future years but just days and months - is not just an economic storm but a hurricane - Tucker then asked another guest whether he agreed with the CEO's statement. The guest said he did agree, but with one qualification - that what's coming won't be your run-of-the-mill hurricane but a "category five" super-storm.
The overwhelming tendency of human beings is to assume that tomorrow will be much like today. Even for those rare birds who have the capacity to assess their environment and reach an intellectual understanding that convinces them great and dreadful changes are looming, the emotional momentum of life is extremely difficult to overcome. Of course tomorrow there will be electricity in the wires and the lights will turn on when I flip the switch, there will be natural gas in the pipes so my kitchen range and furnace will fire up when I need them, there will be gasoline in the pump down at Costco when I need to fill my gas tank, food on the shelves of the local supermarket when I go there to buy, and so on. I'll always be able to eat when I'm hungry, drink when I'm thirsty, get warm when I'm cold, cool down when I'm hot, and go where I want, when I want, right? It has ever been so, and will always be so, won't it? WON'T IT? The world could not possibly change so much that these basic essentials will go away or become so expensive so as to pitch me and millions of others into desperate poverty and want of the essentials of life, could it? It could never happen here, could it? COULD IT?
"I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear." - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Doctrine & Covenants 38:30

p.s. Just one example: have you heard that gasoline stations are reprogramming their pumps to allow for double-digit gas prices? That is, prices in excess of $10 per gallon? What would a ten-dollar gasoline price do to your finances? Now imagine similar prices increases in everything you buy, the essentials you and your family need to live from day to day...
p.p.s. These are the times that try men's souls...
