House Speaker Mike Johnson - Donald Trump in Microcosm
Just received this email (scroll down) from Mike Johnson, the new Speaker of the House. In reading it, it occurred to me that Kevin McCarthy, the ousted speaker, on his worst day never took the kind of flak from Democrats that Johnson has received virtually from the moment he took up the gavel.
Why? Because Johnson was immediately over the target and McCarthy never was. Everybody in the Uni-Party - the DC Swamp - knew the unprincipled, dim-bulb political whore McCarthy was one of their own and posed no threat to the interests and power of the deep-state swamp-dwellers in Washington.
Johnson is a horse of an entirely different color. He appears to be the swamp-dwellers' worst nightmare - a man of principle, a man of religion, a serious, committed Christian - aspects of character anathema to the deeply rooted intellectual, moral and spiritual corruption and anti-American sedition that has stolen - literally stolen - its way into power at the highest levels in our country.
When asked about his "worldview", Johnson responded, "If you want to know where my worldview comes from, read the Bible" - or words to that effect. Hip-Hip-Hooray! Imagine the terror that flashed through the corrupt, Godless souls of Democrats and their RINO soulmates upon hearing those words:
A friend suggested that Matt Gaetz and his intrepid little band of House conservatives were a tad too hasty in giving McCarthy the boot without knowing for certain what would happen next. I countered by observing that the Republican hold - actually the conservative hold - on majority power in the House - the only tiny focus of conservative power in the entire corrupt federal government - was so fragile and tenuous that they could not afford to wait even a day before exercising that power while they still had it.
With anyone replacing him certain to be an improvement, the chance to get rid of the deceitful RINO McCarthy was a once in a lifetime opportunity and could not be placed at risk by any hesitancy or delay - especially considering the deviousness of the Dem/RINO opposition as demonstrated by the deliberate paralysis they imposed on the House immediately followed McCarthy's fall. Instead of getting right down to the business of choosing a new speaker, they were all sent home to sulk. This deliberate freeze on action in the House was intended to depict the removal of McCarthy as foolish and leading to "chaos". Instead, it led to Johnson.
With Johnson's ascension to the speakership the wisdom of having promptly kicked McCarthy's sorry heinie out of the job is now clearly manifest. The virtue and correctness of that course of action we can see precisely measured by the degree of panic and opposition Johnson faces, which panic is already rising to a fever-pitch on the left and among RINOs.
In one sense, what happens now to Johnson - who seeks to restore long-abandoned regular order to the business of the House - such as single-item appropriation bills instead of fiscally irresponsible catch-all continuing resolutions (CRs) that fund willy-nilly everything that everybody wants - will be a microcosm of what happened to Donald Trump during his first term, and what certainly will happen to Trump again should he win in 2024.
Johnson, like Trump, is already facing and will continue to be confronted with the most hateful and unprincipled opposition and calumny. Leftists and RINOs, who see Johnson, as they do Trump, as an existential threat, will, without any regard to truth or fairness, attack him from every angle and by every means possible as they try desperately to maintain the corrupt, anti-American power structure they have created to serve their own interests, but not those of the American people.
Proving the steel he's made of, Trump, notwithstanding the vicious, treasonous forces that worked unceasingly against him, did, as a matter of record, more for America in his first term than any modern president before him. What remains to be seen is how well Johnson does swimming upstream against the vicious opposition leftists and their RINO fellow-travelers are certain to bring relentlessly against him.
Decent, God-fearing, patriotic Americans owe Mike Johnson their support.
Right vs. wrong, truth vs. lies, reality vs. fantasy, order vs. chaos, law vs. lawlessness, light vs. darkness, good vs. evil, God vs. the Godless…
Time to choose… Like it or not, you will.

My fellow Americans – this is Mike Johnson.
This is a longer email but I’m humbly asking you to read it start to finish.
Why? Because the moment I was elected Speaker by my Republican colleagues, the Radical Left IMMEDIATELY unleashed a coordinated, preplanned political hit job against me.
The Liberal Media spun up hit piece after hit piece to smear me in the press – Biden’s former Press Secretary even attacked me for being a Christian on MSNBC.
Politico fired off this headline: “Democrats rev up the opposition machine against Mike Johnson.”
And I can’t even begin to tell you how many Democrat fundraising emails and texts I saw in the minutes following the final vote – I’m bracing myself for the next FEC reports.
Look:
These vicious attacks are a dime a dozen in Washington. They don’t intimidate me. But I’ll let you in on a little secret: that’s not really the goal…
The real goal of this political ambush is two-fold: 1) smear the good names of every House Republican to hurt them electorally, and 2) scare Liberals enough to whip out their credit cards, fill in their info, and donate to Democrats.
It’s about power and money. Nothing else.
That’s why it’s mission-critical that we stand up for ourselves in critical moments like this. So as one of my first moves as Speaker, I’m teaming up with my fellow Louisianian – Majority Leader Steve Scalise – to set a goal of raising one million dollars between now and the end of the month.
It’s ambitious. I get it. But that’s the bare minimum we need to fully fund our campaign operations in battleground races across the country.
If we fall short of that, we’ll be forced to SLASH our voter contact budgets, GUT our digital outreach efforts, and pull our ads OFF THE AIRWAVES. Nothing could be worse for our plans to defend and expand our slim House Majority.
So here’s my final pitch to you:
We urgently need your help. Not next week, not in the new year – right here and right now.
The difference between a strong Conservative Majority and one controlled by the Liberal Machine will come down to can’t-miss fundraising goals just like this.
Let me make myself perfectly clear:
I’m not asking you to pitch in more than you can afford. If you can spare $50 or $100, I would be tremendously grateful. But if you can only spare $5 or $10, I would be equally appreciative.
The ONLY thing I ask is for every Conservative in the country to chip in SOMETHING.
That will be the difference between victory and defeat. So what do you say? Can I count you in?
