When I fired up my computer the other day, I found another winner from Yahoo News:
El Salvador and U.S. say they won't help return Abrego Garcia after he was mistakenly deported
What consummate nonsense. Abrego Garcia was not "a Mayland father" as the article describes him. He had no legal right to be in Maryland or anywhere else in the United States, and he wasn’t “mistakenly deported”.
Characterizing him as the writer of this article did, implying Garcia was just another run-of-the-mill, upstanding American citizen, husband and father, minding his own business, falling victim to an out-of-control Trump Administration, kidnapped off the street by Trump’s DHS Gestapo - “IF THEY CAN DO THIS TO HIM, IS ANYBODY SAFE?” - is just another transparent example of the left's deliberate, dishonest perversion of language in support of their radical, lawless, anti-American, globalist, open-borders agenda. This sort of dishonest and distorted use of language is a prime weapon in the leftists’ arsenal. (See my earlier Substack post “THE LEFT’S DECEITFUL WAR OF WORDS”)
As Attorney General Pam Bondi explained during the President’s recent press conference with the El Salvadorian president, this man, Garcia, an El Salvador citizen, was an illegal alien. He broke US law when he entered the US illegally and continued to break the law by remaining here illegally. On that basis alone the US Government had every right under the law to detain and deport him to his home country. No further “due process” required.
As Donald Trump observed rhetorically during his campaign, “Either the law means something, or it doesn’t.” Indeed, if the law means anything, under the law, US authorities had not only the right but the obligation to remove the illegal alien Garcia from US soil.
Beyond that, two US immigration courts determined that Garcia was a member of MS-13, a gang of illegal aliens that has been designated by the US Government as a "foreign terrorist organization". On that basis, in addition to his status as an illegal alien, Garcia's deportation to a maximum-security prison in El Salvador, his home country, was fully justified and mandatory. What possible rational argument could exist to the contrary?
Those among us - the liberal Democrats - who are screaming for “due process" - “DUE PROCESS! YOU CAN’T TREAT SOMEONE LIKE THIS WITHOUT DUE PROCESS! - are simply parading their ignorance of the law - and particularly so with regard to someone like Abrego Garcia, who is an illegal alien and twice adjudicated member of a “foreign terrorist organization”. Garcia, as an illegal alien and terrorist, had no rights under US law other than the right to be apprehended and immediately deported.
Under US law, only legal citizens have full access to the due process the law provides and cannot be stripped of their citizenship by process of law. They must voluntarily relinquish citizenship or take actions - such as serving in a foreign government - tantamount to such relinquishing. All others - non-citizens such as tourists, green card holders, student visa holders - are allowed to enter and stay in the country provisionally and have fewer overall rights than do citizens.
While a legal citizen could, these guests cannot, for example, claim the protection of “free speech” and demonstrate against America, their host, and advocate for foreign terrorist organizations like Hamas. They have fewer due process rights under the law and may have their privilege to be here revoked if the specific conditions of their presence or residence are violated as judged by the Executive Branch. The Executive Branch - the President and those he appoints to this duty - has wide-ranging authority and latitude under the Constitution to administer and adjudicate in this area and eject those they determine to have violated the terms of their presence on US soil.
Obviously, someone who illegally enters the US, the instant he sets foot on our side of the border, has immediately demonstrated such violation and may immediately be deported. Again, no further due process required.
Federal District Court Judge James Boasberg, whose jurisdiction is prima facie limited to the boundaries of his designated district, had no constitutional authority to interfere with or dictate to the Trump Administration in this matter and has no authority to tell El Salvador authorities what they now must do with their own citizen on their own territory. This was confirmed by the Supreme Court when they overturned Boasberg’s order that Trump’s deportation flights had to turn around and cease.
Another thought or two occurred to me as I read this article. One was the astonishing degree of contempt the leftist media obviously feel for their readership and audiences. They simply assume their minions are stupid, gullible, devoid of common sense, ignorant of the law, without morals or a basic sense of fairness and will believe anything, no matter how ridiculous or unfounded, their media mind-controllers write or otherwise disseminate to their ignorant zombie minions.
We saw this media mindset and strategy employed vigorously against Trump and his supporters during the four years of the election-stealing, illegitimate, lawless, treasonous Biden regime - “Hitler! Fascist! Dictator! Russian Stooge! Would-Be-King! Enemy of democracy! Election-Denier! Threat to the Constitution! Rapist! Fellon!“ - a strategy that, notwithstanding it dominated (and still does dominate) the mainstream media, failed dramatically as the American people - greatly to their intellectual, moral and spiritual credit - seeing through the Democrats’ lies and deceit, in their electoral and popular majorities gave Trump a landslide victory and a powerful mandate last November.
Remembering that the collective intellectual, moral and spiritual substance of our people drives and will determine the direction and future of our society and nation, one other thought comes to mind - that the disseminators of dishonest, lying leftist propaganda like that served up in this deliberately deceptive and dishonest Yahoo piece - just another foray in their ongoing war against Donald Trump and his supporters - would not continue to spew this kind of tripe unless there was an audience for it.
The deadly, telling questions are, how big is that dumbed-down audience, and is it growing or shrinking? That is another way of asking, is the overall intellectual, moral and spiritual quality of the nation waxing or waning?
The fate of the nation hangs in the balance…
From time to time, I wonder if I’m preaching to the choir - wonder if what I comment on, what seems important to me, is not so self-evident that every even marginally sentient observer with a few firing synapses can see it, rendering my commentary superfluous and unnecessary.
But then I remember the astonishing fact that, notwithstanding her utter and stunning lack of any substance or accomplishment that would remotely merit her presence on a presidential ticket, notwithstanding her cackling word-salad vacuity, fully 75 million of our fellow citizens - just a few million short of half the electorate - voted for the Cackling Commie Dingbat Harris and her strutting co-clown Tampon Tim - a frightening indicator and measure of the ongoing scale of intellectual, moral and spiritual degradation among our people and clear evidence that, though a majority of us won a great battle last November, opening a bright window of hope, that majority is a slim one. Decent, thinking, rational people constitute an intellectual, moral and spiritual island in our society - admittedly a pretty good-sized island - surrounded by a sea of demons and idiots who, notwithstanding their recent humiliating defeat, are not going to magically disappear.
America is still on the razor’s edge - and the war goes on.
This, in a pervasively deceitful world, again highlights the need for honest, decent people to sharpen their skills and hone their sensitivities when it comes to telling the difference between truth and lies. My little maxim provides one good approach:
“The credibility of WHAT you argue is directly a function of HOW you argue. Find the truth in the METHODOLOGY of argument. The truth cuts its own way and can be argued for in an honest, open manner that does not insult the intelligence of those it seeks to persuade. Deceit cannot be so argued.”
Right vs. wrong, truth vs. lies, reality v. fantasy, knowledge vs. ignorance, order vs. chaos, law vs. lawlessness, justice vs. injustice, patriotism vs. treason, light vs. darkness, good vs. evil, happiness vs. misery, God vs. the Godless…
You choose…
