How about a delusional psychotic break from reality?
In another form, a college professor, obviously a Trump-hater, forwarded a post from one of his former graduate students, whom we will call Sarah.
First, from the college professor:
“Just one sweet reflection from a former neuroscience grad student of mine, Sarah… As a committed patriot [sic], Sarah's family went to the Provo “No Kings Day” protests and here's what she later posted on Facebook June 14, 2025. She said she took her family to ‘the march against fascism today’ as a family because silence in the face of injustice and cruelty is NOT an option. When one person or group of people are dehumanized and othered and unsafe we are all dehumanized, othered and unsafe.”
From Sarah:
“The politically motivated assassinations and attempted assassinations of Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota this morning and the shooting / murder at the SLC “No Kings Day” protest tonight only stress why it is so important we continue showing up and speaking up.
“I was a little nervous going with the kids (we were missing Eliana because she wasn’t feeling well) this time because of risk of agitators being violent, but thankfully all was peaceful and respectful and we had a great time.
“We were thrilled to learn there were over 4500 people who showed up today. I loved being surrounded by so many like-minded people. My favorite thing about the day was those who were thoughtful enough to bring extra water and snacks and walked around offering them to those in attendance.
“I am sharing a couple pics of our family with our signs I stayed up late last night making and some of my favorite signs I saw. We had multiple people thank us for bringing our kids and teaching them the importance of engaging in and fighting for democracy.
“For the first time in a very long time I felt hopeful seeing so many who showed up… and that hope only continued to grow as I saw videos and posts of other “No Kings Day” protests and marches across the country."
My response to the professor and Sarah:
"Sweet reflection"?
A better characterization, IMHO, would be utter, unadulterated, delusional, psychotic, intellectually, morally, spiritually insulting poppycock - and, at a time when the cohesiveness and stability of our society is more fragile and at risk than it has ever been since the Civil War, dangerous, divisive poppycock at that - a frightening demonstration of how ignorance and evil can cloak themselves in self-righteous good intentions (this calls to mind Jesus’s comment to his disciples that the time would come that the people who would kill them would think they were “doing God service”).
Rising up in a great self-righteous, self-congratulatory, moralizing, judgmental, virtue-signaling fireball of empty vanity and condescension - all disconnected from cold hard reality - this person exerts - and encourages her family to exert - a negative influence in our society based on fantasy and, above all, gross and willful ignorance - all while self-righteously patting herself on the back. She’s “fighting against fascism” and “standing up against injustice and cruelty”.
Exactly where is the evidence for the “fascism, injustice and cruelty” Sarah thinks she is fighting?
All one has to do to blow this self-righteous balderdash to smithereens is ask a few fundamental questions of the demonstrators - in this case, Sarah - such as:
Regarding the "No Kings" demonstration that you so joyously attended - one that millions participated in around the country (these numbers being a sad but telling measure of the stunning degree of ignorance and gullibility among our people) - other than loving "being surrounded by like-minded people" (mob mentality?), EXACTLY WHAT IS IT YOU WERE DEMONSTRATING AGAINST OR FOR? Please give us the details, point by point, so reasonable people can understand.
If you and your fellow "No Kings" lemmings were meaning to charge Donald Trump will aspiring to establish a monarchy, as "No Kings" clearly implies and as some have openly charged, please lay out for us exactly what Trump or his administration have done that smacks of monarchy - ANYTHING they have done that is clearly not a proper and legal exercise of Executive Branch powers as set forth in the Constitution.
What? Nothing? YOU'VE GOT NOTHING? You mean all of this marching around and sign-waving was nothing but empty, self-congratulatory, Trump-hating ad hominem gas?
And regarding those signs, let's ask a few similar questions:
Exactly what did Ann Frank write in her diary pertinent to today's political situation? Was the creator of this sign meaning to say that Donald Trump and his administration are Nazis? I think, yes. Since just sayin' it don't make it so (see my earlier Substack post "THE LEFT'S DECEITFUL WAR OF WORDS", please lay out for us exactly what it is Trump and his administration have done that justifies calling them Nazis? Fascists? Tyrants?
Would it be, by chance, the Trump Administration’s efforts to do what they have sworn before God to do - to uphold the Constitution of the United States and enforce the duly constituted laws of the land - including the immigration laws - the same laws, BTW, the lawless, illegitimate, seditious, treasonous, America-hating Biden regime and their Democrat supporters trampled under their feet, allowing, aiding and abetting - with billions of our dollars - an invasion of tens of millions of illegal, unvetted aliens from all over the world - aliens who have poisoned, robbed, raped, murdered, and otherwise inflicted grave injury on the legal citizens of America?
As I’ve written elsewhere, those who oppose the Trump Administration’s efforts to enforce the duly constituted laws of the land are not really just enemies of Trump, his team and his supporters. They are enemies of the Constitution and the entire construct of constitutional rule of law that flows from it - the glue that holds civil society together. They see themselves as morally superior, but in fact are authors of chaos and anarchy - traitors to America at the most fundamental ideological and philosophical levels. Sir Thomas More again:
“If the law be down, such a wind will blow in the land that no man can stand.”
And, regarding calling Donald Trump a "criminal", as one sign does, let me ask, does being convicted in an obviously weaponized, kangaroo court, as Donald Trump was, truly make one a criminal? As I recently wrote, the answer to that is NO. It makes him a victim. (See my Substack post, "ALL THE PRESIDENT'S FELONS?").
If you believe the rulings of a Moscow-type show trial make Trump a criminal, you are in a distinct minority (I’m reminded of the “trials” that labeled Jesus Christ - the one perfect, sinless man - a “criminal” worthy of death). Electoral and popular majorities of Americans do not agree and reject this Trump-hating tripe, as they demonstrated so resoundingly last November by re-electing him in a landslide (eat your Trump-hating hearts out).
And, Sarah, do ask you daughter to explain her sign: exactly what does she think makes Donald Trump "the worst president ever"? Specifics, please. There must be numerous reasons - Trump’s myriad failings as president - she can cite in support of her (your) charge, right?
What? She's (you've) got nothing? Nothing but a reckless, empty blast of noxious ad hominem, Trump-hating gas?
Sadly, like everyone else at your pathetic little Parade of Stupid, your daughter hasn't the faintest idea what she's talking about - no idea what you've put her up to waving mindlessly around. Fine job of parenting! Reminds of German children, encouraged by the adults they trusted, waving swastika flags and giving the straight-arm salute during the Nazi era. And, boy, were they ever joyful, sincere and utterly convinced of their rectitude, the rightness of their cause - and utterly oblivious of the doom that lay ahead for Germany thanks to their mindless support for a true dictator and tyrant.
But now on to my overall favorite sign:
"The Book of Mormon warned us about leaders like Trump".
Again, since just sayin' it don't make it so, somebody please show us exactly where and how the BOM makes reference to anything we who are conversant with that record could recognize as descriptive of Donald Trump, his administration and their America First, MAGA, law-and-order agenda. Yes, please… someone regale us with us an erudite theological treatise drawing the BOM/Trump parallels necessary to support and justify this assertion.

However, regarding this entire anti-Trump disconnect from reality that drives mindless sheep like the No Kings crowd, there is an interesting point of reference in the Book of Mormon. There is indeed one striking parallel. The irrational, fantasy-based hatred of and opposition to DJT calls to mind a central theme in the BOM historical record - the enduring LIE that drove Lamanite animus toward the Nephites throughout their entire 1,000-year history - that the Nephites - descendants of the family's younger brother, Nephi - had usurped power from the rightful rulers - the descendants of the older brother, Laman.
It was an enduring lie that cost the lives of millions over the course of their 1,000-year history and ultimately, in colossal battles like the world had never before and never has since seen, resulted in the entire bloody destruction of their society and nation - hundreds of thousands killed in brutal hand-to-hand combat in the space of just a few days.
That deadly Lamanite lie - a complete fiction - was no different than the hateful but empty concatenation of lies being employed by power-hungry, America-hating seditionists, traitors and their gullible dups to gin up - very effectively gin up - deadly animosity and hostility against the patriot Donald Trump, his administration and his America First MAGA supporters:

The Nephites and Lamanites redux - or, as the great Yogi Berra might have put it, “It’s déjà vu all over again”.
Though she is totally, blissfully unaware and certain of her rectitude, the intellectual, moral and spiritual rot eating away at the bones of America is clearly demonstrated in Sarah’s bubbly, self-congratulatory, virtue-signaling post, frighteningly disconnected from reality. Will this corruption continue to run rampant among us? Since the collective intellectual, moral and spiritual substance of the people is the driver of the future, will our great divinely inspired experiment in human liberty - dependent, as the Founders knew and declared, on the people’s God-fearing virtue and enlightened, informed intelligence - be overthrown by the ignorant, the stupid and the seditious, ending us up in lawless chaos and anarchy, suffering the same suicidal fate the Nephite/Lamanite nation inflicted upon themselves?
Sadly, the odds of this substantial intellectually, morally and spiritually corrupt segment of our population ever honestly confronting and repenting of their ignorance and corruption are, IMHO, vanishingly slight. Their self-righteous arrogance won’t let them. Since these people are not magically going to disappear and will continue to have baneful influence in our society, the chances of our sharing the fate of the Nephite/Lamanite nation are frighteningly good.
In my view, sooner or later, push is going to come to shove, and, as was true in the days of our revolutionary founding, nothing but the steely resolve of the intellectually, morally and spiritually enlightened among us will carry the day.
Buckle up.
Right vs. wrong, truth vs. lies, reality vs. fantasy, knowledge vs. ignorance, law vs. lawlessness, order vs. chaos, patriotism vs. treason, liberty vs. tyranny, light vs. darkness, good vs. evil, happiness vs. misery, God vs. the Godless…
