Separating the Sheep from the Goats in America - Part 2
Today’s post is further to my earlier (11 August 22) post of the same title - Separating the Sheep from the Goats in America (substack.com)
Another forum I participate in is partially populated by a group of Trump-haters. They were on the distribution list for my yesterday post:
No-Brainer
In that post I challenged readers to choose between two candidates - Candidate A and Candidate B - based solely in their respective track records during the time they held office - their identities and all other personal details being unknown to voters.
No one among the Trump-hating group has responded to that post.
Accordingly, may I herewith extend a special invitation to these individuals and any other Trump-haters who may read yesterday’s and this piece. Rather than cower silently in the shadows, please do respond to the reasoning and challenge presented in my post.
Remembering that you know absolutely nothing about either candidate except the conditions that prevailed among the people while each was in power, which will it be? Candidate A or Candidate B? And if Candidate B, why? Please lay out your reasoning.
None of these folks will respond, of course, because they know their anti-Trump animus is irrational and transcends any kind of honest reason - certainly any kind of reasoning based on the well-being and best interests of our country and its citizens.
They've got nothing - no coherent, honest argument they can bring in response - nothing that would not paint and reveal them in their true colors as the intellectual, moral and spiritual rot in the bones of America they truly are.
I am reminded here of Jesus's encounter (Luke 20:1-8; Matthew 21:23–27; Mark 11:27–33) with a group of Jewish chief priests, scribes and elders who saw him as a threat to their power and sought to challenge his authority to do the things he was doing. But Jesus immediately saw through them. Like today's Trump-haters, this bunch - the elitist cream of the crop of Jewish society - had an agenda other than the truth - especially the truth about themselves. Here is the exchange:
"And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things."
So, again... which is it boys? Candidate A or Canidate B, and why?
Time to separate the sheep from the goats - which is, of course, in our day and age, the whole point - exactly what is happening:
“And until that hour there will be foolish virgins among the wise; and at that hour cometh an entire separation of the righteous and the wicked; and in that day will I send mine angels to pluck out the wicked and cast them into unquenchable fire.” - Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Doctrine & Covenants 63:54
Right vs. wrong, truth vs. lies, light vs. darkness, justice vs. injustice, good vs. evil...
Take your pick. You will, one way or another…
You can run, but you can’t hide…
If you can be fooled, you will be.
