Belatedly, years later than it should have been issued and would have been useful, special counsel John Durham has finally issued his report on Donald Trump’s alleged and much ballyhooed “Russian collusion”. Not surprisingly, the report, blowing a hole below the waterline in the hateful anti-Trump narrative, entirely exonerates DJT and excoriates the viciously politicized FBI and associated corrupt government entities that maliciously pursued their much-publicized witch hunt against Trump in the total absence of any supporting evidence whatsoever, certainly damaging the man’s presidency, negatively impacting his run for re-election in 2020 and inflicting immeasurable injury on the country at large.
Following the issuing of Durham’s report several days ago, a friend in another forum, who daily receives a report summarizing the most important stories reported in the country’s major news media outlets, noted that, as explosive and important to the American people as this report is - as critical as it is in revealing the high-level corruption of government agencies and the gross injustice done to a man who, in his first term as president, did more for the nation and people of America than any president in modern times - the mainstream media (MSM) have completely ignored the report - as if it simply did not exist. We would know little or nothing about this report were it not for the Internet.
My thoughts in response:
Every passing day the MSM refuse to cover the explosive Durham report further confirms their corruption and bias. They deserve and enjoy no credibility with decent, thinking Americans, whose intelligence they routinely insult from day to day as a matter of policy.
Accordingly, the real challenge truth-seeking folks face these days is finding sources of dependable information.
Thank heaven for the Internet.
On the other hand, the very fact that the Internet does here and there allow access to dependable information makes it a target for those who, in pursuit of their tyrannical agenda, are determined to deny such access. As I have commented in the past:
"In the Information Age, a free and uncensored Internet is the printing press of a free people. The free flow of information is the lifeblood of a free and democratic society. The control and censorship of information is essential to the rise of tyranny. Those who aspire to dictatorial control of the lives and resources of the people must and will seek to bring to heel an irreverent and unruly Internet."
Watch for it.
In my view, it is a virtual certainty that the aspiring tyrants among us will do everything they can to bring the Internet under their control. They don't have a choice. As tyrants have done immemorial, they must punish and close off sources of good information if they are to achieve their totalitarian goals. They can allow only one narrative - theirs. As long as people have access to any degree of honest information - as long as the truth can be spoken anywhere among us and things reported as they really are and really work - those who seek absolute tyrannical power will be hobbled. The truth to them will always be as welcome as Dorothy's bucket of cold water was to the Wicked Witch of the West.
If the Internet in America were to come under the complete control of and policing by tyrants - as it is in China - where would the people go to find the truth about anything?
First comes the dictatorship of information, then the crushing under the jackboot of a corrupt and dictatorial legal system of anyone who departs from Big Brother's narrative.
It will happen as I have said. I have foreseen it.
